Spending time with friends, family, and involvement in community programs and camps helps kids build connections and grow in safe, healthy ways. Giving back to the community helps build character, while staying engaged makes summer safe, fun, and full of memories.
Be aware of common warning signs of substance misuse in teens. They may include:
Changes in behavior and/or mood
Loss of interest in activities and school work
Bloodshot eyes, unusual smells, frequent sickness or changes in appearance
Changes in friends or social circles, avoiding family or old friends
