MARK YOUR CALENDAR for this year’s youth empowerment activity. You don’t want to miss the blast of color as you run the beautiful grounds at the Calverton School. The color blast stations are hosted by local youth sports teams and clubs who receive a portion of the event proceeds.

As we’ve done in the past, we’ll have vendors, music and games for everyone.

Calvert County Drug Take Back Day

LOCATION: Northeast Community Center and Southern Community Center

It’s time to clean out your medicine cabinet. Stop by the Drug Take Back events at Northeast Community Center and Southern Community Center to dispose of your expired and unused medications. Local law enforcement will be on hand to collect your medications. Over the counter and prescription medication are accepted. Please be sure your medications are in a secure container or zip lock bag.

CAASA volunteers will be on hand to share local resource information and Calvert County Behavioral Health will be on site to provide FREE Narcan training and information.

Based on the proven CRAFT model (Community Reinforcement and Family Training), “Parent CRAFT is a self-paced online video course that teaches parents and caregivers the skills and techniques needed to address their child’s substance use. Parent CRAFT has a 71% success rate at getting adolescents to accept professional help and is shown to decrease episodes of anger, anxiety, depression, and negative physical symptoms that impact the entire family”.
