Join us at this year’s “GLOW VIGIL” for the unveiling and dedication of the Overdose Awareness Memorial Sculpture in honor and memory of our beloved lost to overdose death.
International Overdose Awareness Day is a global event to raise awareness that overdose death is preventable and to reduce the stigma associated with drug-related death. This day also acknowledges the grief felt by family and friends remembering those who have died or had a permanent injury as the result of a drug overdose.
Focusing on this year’s theme of “TOGETHER WE CAN”, our guest speakers will be:
Margaret Dowell, Independent Artist, Art Educator, Co-Editor of Addiction and Art
Willie Forman, Christian Rapper and Recovery Addict, Emmanuel Church Celebrate Recovery
Meet artist Thomas Sterner and participate in the dedication and unveiling of the “Big Hug,” “Big Chair” and Memorial Pedestal/Plaque, with comments provided by Keith Pardieck, Chair, Twin Beach Opioid Abuse Awareness Coalition and Mark Frazer, Former Mayor of North Beach, Founder of Sunrise Garden, North Beach.
FREE local prevention, recovery and treatment resources will be available, as well as FREE Narcan Training.
